Marat is a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft Applied Sciences Group. He builds the on-device small language modeling platform for Windows AI. Marat productizes NLP scenarios for first-party customers such as Outlook and Microsoft 365 and third-party users of Windows AI. Marat also contributes to the instruction fine-tuning and post- training with Reinforcement Learning of the base on-device language model Aion- Instruct developed by Applied Sciences Group. Previously, Marat worked at Yandex Alice Voice Assistant team where he contributed to the Automatic Speech Recognition service which handled millions of monthly users, improved the speech endpoint detection model and the natural language understanding engine known as Alice Intelligence. Marat is an alumnus of the Faculty of Computer Science, HSE University, Moscow. Back in the days of his studies, he contributed to the NLP research at the Lab of Methods and Models of Computational Pragmatics where he published a paper on the Artificial Text Detection in the Q1-level journal of Natural Language Processing, Cambridge University Press.
